CREATION 4 (1990)

Published from 1989 to 1994, Creation was a key Japanese graphic design magazine that documented postwar visual culture, linking design with advertising, typography, and identity systems.

With a modernist, structured approach, it treated commercial design as cultural practice, connected Japan to global movements and helped define the precise, refined character of Japanese graphic modernism.

From its beginning, editor Yusaku Kamekura warned the readers, the magazine would end with issue 20. In that sense, this editorial project questioned what it meant to produce a limited life span magazine.
