The series offered surveys focusing on individual artists, techniques, and creative practices, each presented as its own volume. In addition, Tanaka had a striking talent for typography and his calligraphic style remained a strong marker in his works. One of the notable projects associated with him concerns the 1964 Olympic Games of Tokyo.
